Those who find themselves mid-career are quick to learn that it all won't fit within a tight 1-2 page resume. Sure, resume page length has long been debated. Well, let's look at this from a marketing standpoint. Companies use key corporate communications, such as flyers or brochures to educate prospects on their products and services. Follow that concept when writing your resume. Eliminate positions older than 10 years, if possible. Been with the same company for 20 years? Include the older positions, but scale each back considerably or combine if possible. Most of your content should focus on new positions, especially if those positions are relevant to your current target.
