I hear a lot about the need to network in one’s career. I have two young children and work 60 hours a week so just don’t have the time for anything extra like going to networking meetings. Even so, I worry that I won’t get ahead in my career because no one knows me.

The sales rep will say, "Sure. What are you looking for?" Then he'll ask for more details -- the make, model, color, price you’re willing to pay, etc.
