The Bump Factor

Years ago, in his book, The Pursuit of Wow!, Tom Peters talked about the "bump-into factor." He said that the objects and ideas we find ourselves surrounded by and bombarded with regularly are what get our attention.

I know that what I refer to as simply "the bump factor" is my excuse for a messy desk. I have no intention of tucking critical projects efficiently away inside a drawer. When I “bump” into my projects everyday (metaphorically, not literally, I am not that messy), they stay in the forefront of my mind until they are complete. (read more...)

I started my business 6 years ago and have grown to employ four people. When I hired them there was adequate money thrown off from the business to do so, thus, the decision to add them and grow the business was a no brainier. After 6 years I am finally drawing the salary I desired, and feel is well deserved, especially considering the hard work and excessive hours that brought me to this point in time.
