Quality Initiative Specialist

Job Location: Little Rock, AR

This individual will be responsible for the communication, coordination, monitoring, education and promotion of the Inpatient Quality Initiative process and activities in hospitals related to quality data collection, submission and validation. Work with Quality Improvement (QI) team members to identify and develop educational outreach and communiqués regarding the collection of reliable and valid data for designated clinical topics. Collaborate with medical and other professional staff to accomplish goals within designated timeframes.

• Understand and utilize performance tracking tools for day-to-day activities, on-site visits and issues pertinent to individual projects, partners and collaborators.
• Present progress report and update of project activities to QI Team and appropriate project staff at designated time intervals.
• Identify barriers and problem solve with QI team as related to hospital trends with abstraction, submission and validation of data.
• Assist with input into tool development in collaboration with hospital team based on feedback from providers through validation process.
•  Assist team in development and maintenance of IQI databases: tracking, validation, and others as appropriate.

• Must be able to work independently and communicate well with team members, health care providers, governmental agencies, and consumers.
• Must be able to obtain and analyze clinical data relative to quality improvement projects; evaluate and understand results of data analysis, and understand and interpret visual representations of data or project application.
• Must be able to concentrate and work under timeframe pressures and deadlines.
•  Must have knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, Power Point and Word.
• Must have flexible work habits and the ability to prioritize work activities.

High School Diploma or its equivalent required

• Minimum two (2) years experience in clinical environment.
•  Minimum one (1) year experience in Continuous Quality Improvement preferred.
•  Minimum of three (3) years experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
